The crazy work schedule has kept me away from my blog and posting updates on Instagram has been easier to do. Super excited and honoured to be a guest at the Alila Anji for a series of weekends dedicated to artful explorations with kids. The program is called “Artist-in-Residence” which is part of the pop-up series of events. I’ve been asked to develop a series of art workshops for kids and adults who are guests at the resort (check out their website and you will see how amazing the resort is). My first “solo” trip in a long time without the kids. This year they decided to join their school trips and so I ended up going to Ho Chi Minh with my colleagues. Saigon is one of those places I’ve been wanting to go and it was great to have had this chance to explore places with the team and on my own. Definitely an adventure! On this trip I used a TN insert to document the trip and managed to get most pages done during the trip and added a couple full page photos when I returned. This travel journal was done a couple months ago but never got to share with so many things on my to-do list. This cover is a custom-made album cover which is 1 of the 3 I got made. For this size, I got the guy to etch the geotag and “GO” on the cover to see how it works. This is a different size from the other mini albums as I thought I’d test out a “personal planner insert” size. Halfway and somehow I feel like it’s only been not long ago when I started this project… To be honest, all this play has been addicting. I keep getting distracted from doing other stuff and instead just want to keep cutting up papers and painting backgrounds. Acrylics are not easy for me to use as I’ve always been a watercolour fan since my university days, but on this creative journey, it gave me a chance to learn how to tweak it to my needs. Somehow this project has got me all wrapped up in a good way; I cannot seem to stop once I get started… Just the notion of playing with paper and paint somehow is kind of calming.
