Time… where did it all go? Last year’s Messy May, we were house-bound due to COVID lockdown in Shanghai. We were on our second month then and creating my pages in a mini outdated diary was the one of the things that was keeping my mind busy. This year’s Messy May crept up on me and fortunately I had an empty mini bound journal I made for Wanderlust. I found it was a fantastic size to work on. If you are following me on Instagram, you would have seen these. I’m sharing some of my favourite pages from this challenge. And you can check out the flip-thru of the entire…

This quarter of the Get Messy season has been a busy one and I don’t think I did as much spreads as before. This was all in between the 2-month lockdown and the flurry of activities after, from making sure we got to make doctors’ appointments, looking for new apartment to actually moving and unpacking. Whew! Looking back, I was glad I took a breather from creating to ease the pressure of needing to show up all the time. So here’s my art journal pages for this second quarter of 2022 starting with the Season of OK. The Season of Mess was an inspiring season. And then finally for June,…

May came and went. In between being in lockdown, trying to stay positive amidst everything and trying to find recipes to match what I had available, cleaning the apartment and work… well it was all happening all at once. This challenge from Get Messy was probably one that made the days a bit better, it was something I looked forward to playing in my art journals. And I even got to take some process videos! So what I used is this small (I think around A6) size old journal/diary. It is dated 2017 but have not thrown it out because I thought maybe I can do something with it since…

Art journaling has been filling up my time these days that a lot of my other projects have been on hold a bit longer than I had planned. Just thought I’d share some of the Get Messy art journal pages I’ve been working on and these has been quite uplifting and fun. First up are my pages for the Season of Courage. Here are my pages for the Season of Enough. And then finally, the March season. Get Messy is more than just art journaling. It is a community of artists who support each other. And it is a fantastic community to belong to. Check out the Get Messy website.…

Sharing my pages for the GetMessy Messy List part 4. Somehow this set of prompts got me quite inspired to do quickly (unfortunately it took me a while to get this post out). I think it is also to do with having a smaller area to play with and getting most background done before putting on the finishing touches on each spread. Here are my spreads: Since I wrote this list for the prompt, new trips have suddenly come up which I am excited about. One of this is to Tokyo and another to Wuxi, China. Thank you for looking.

This blogpost is way way way overdue. My pages for the Get Messy Messy Lists #3 and #4 were done some time ago but somehow time went in a blur and kept forgetting to take photos of them for this post. So finally, I’m sharing my Messy List #3 here below. Thank you for looking.

So far so good with keeping up with the Get Messy art journal Messy Lists challenge. I’m enjoying the time spent in the evenings to make my pages. One thing I have noticed though is that I realised I spent more time than needed on these pages… I seem to have reverted back into “over thinking” things. But that is changing on the 3rd round, for sure! So here is what I made for the second set of prompts: Thank you for looking.

It’s Season 8 of the Get Messy art journal challenge. Last year I ended up only getting up to Season 2 and 3 because my full-time work got too hectic. And I also realise that I seem to overthink my pages and spent too much time visualising how it will look which in the end, well, got me sidetracked into other stuff. When the collab between Get Messy and 30 Days of List came up, I knew I didn’t want to pass up on this one. And this time around, I am changing things around by: Destashing – I am using a handmade MTN insert using various papers from my…
