December 2014, I got inspired to do some journaling using the prompts from Life Captured Inc (#lifecapturedproject). In 2015, I continued journaling as a way to take a breather and also document using words (and in some cases, adding in some doodles and brush lettering), about our life in Shanghai. I enjoyed it a lot and made time in spite of the crazy life a full-time designer has, juggling crazy hours and family life. I am honoured that I got chosen to be an Amabassador which was certainly a big deal for me. After 13 months of journaling everyday, here’s a look back at my journals. Starting with the MTN…

As with all my travels the past few years, I document these as much as I can. On the recent Taipei trip (read here and here), I’ve made the documenting even simpler with only a few basic stuff that I brought with me, packed into my Delfonics Inner Carrying pouch. Here’s a look at the few pages I used inside my handmade leather Traveler’s Notebook system using the 013 insert. Day 1 I cut up brochures I picked up at the airport along with other ephemera from places I could find. I printed small photos when I got back to Shanghai because I forgot to bring my Instax Printer! Day…

Back in August, I posted this freebie to a Week in the Life notebook in the MTN regular size format. I documented our Week in the Life by Ali Edwards this year using this format but with less photos than I used. Like last year, having this portable size made documenting easier. I thought I’d share a few pages off my notebook. Here goes… Thanks for looking.

This is the second part of the 2-part post of how I documented one of our summer trips. The first part can be found here. For this journal, I made a notebook to go into my Midori Travelers Notebook which turned out thicker than the first part. Which has it’s pros and cons. Srill, I’m quite happy with the way this turned out and so this post is quite heavy with images. Here’s a look at some of the pages: I love this little globe sticker from Midori which I picked up in Osaka last June. And the Ali Edwards tags from the Go Story Kit as perfect opener. I…

Every October the past few years, I’ve been wanting to do a mini gratitude album but every time, something aways comes up. But this year since I am using my Midori Traveler’s Notebooks all the time now, I decided to create a mini notebook that I can squeeze in. That way I can add in some words wherever I am. The whole idea is to keep things simple just jotting down things on my mind. Maybe I will add a photo or so, depending on what I’m grateful for on that day. I am using the MTN Passport size as it is my main agenda book. You can also use this…

My suitcase from the recent trip to the Philippines has not been completely unpacked and then I had to go on a business trip to Yinchuan. As I have not been to Yinchuan before, I decided to take this chance to take my kids along. And of course, I debated on whether I will do a travel journal or not. I’m glad I did! I kept things simple and decided to use a Traveler’s Notebook Refill for a Short Trip with my Passport size Midori Traveler’s Notebook (which I got on sale!). The stuff I brought on previous trips were practically in my suitcase so I just brought them along on…

For this year’s #weekinthelife by Ali Edwards, I’ve re-designed (yes, being a designer, I can never be happy with a design especially when it is for myself…!) the Traveler’s Notebook format I did last year. This time I did 2 new designs with ample space for photos or journaling. My #weekinthelife starts Sunday instead of Monday as this is same way I document with my Project Life pages. This is what I did last year with lots of photos. This year, I may add more words instead of photos. Let’s see how everything goes from tomorrow. Putting this booklet together is easy Print the pages in the PDF on both…

This is a 2-part post more because I ended up going to my hometown, Tacloban City, twice in July. I initially thought of putting both trips into 1 journal but I decided that on both trips, there will be different events and activities so I made 2. Here’s a look at some of the pages: Thanks for looking.

On every trip during the last few years, I never leave without a travel journal or album with me. Along with a handmade and customized journal or album, I bring along with me a few necessary supplies which has now become more of a ‘standard’ set in a bag. So just want to share with you a few pages from my Japan travel journal which is sized to fit inside my handmade fauxdori (similar to this). The cover uses an old Amy Tangerine paper from the Sketchbook collection. And stitched with alphas on the cover. I finally got to use an old ‘June’ wood veneer which is on the inside…
