So excited to share with you all about the recently concluded Planner/Journal Market (手帐集市）that was held last May 1. This is the third time that I’ve been to this 1-day event but this time around, I was asked to give a 40-minute workshop about decorating with Instax photos, wash tapes, stickers and etc. on the Midori Traveler’s Notebook. This workshop was in Chinese so it was a bit scary for me to give a workshop using a language for which i’m not a native speaker. After deliberating for a long time, I decided on the theme “Happy Little Moments” for everyone to document simple stories that happens everyday in their life.…

So far so good with keeping up with the Get Messy art journal Messy Lists challenge. I’m enjoying the time spent in the evenings to make my pages. One thing I have noticed though is that I realised I spent more time than needed on these pages… I seem to have reverted back into “over thinking” things. When I saw this challenge on Instagram, I immediately jumped at the chance to get my watercolours out and try the challenge. A last-minute decision to make a trip to my hometown to visit family was pretty much a blur from the time before we left and the time we came back. If you follow me on IG, I posted about moving to a new apartment, which in itself was a BIG STRESS. Back in college, I used watercolour a lot and used it solely on the advertisement artworks we had to submit for our thesis. This was the time when no one owned computers let alone learned to use one. I love the washes and layers I can do with it. Then I went to Nankai University to study Traditional Chinese Painting for 6 months.
