Travel Journal | Tacloban City (Part 2)

    October 7, 2015 / 2 Comments

This is the second part of the 2-part post of how I documented one of our summer trips. The first part can be found here. For this journal, I made a notebook to go into my Midori Travelers Notebook which turned out thicker than the first part. Which has it’s pros and cons. Srill, I’m quite happy with the way this turned out and so this post is quite heavy with images. Here’s a look at some of the pages: I love this little globe sticker from Midori which I picked up in Osaka last June. And the Ali Edwards tags from the Go Story Kit as perfect opener. I…

It has been a while since I made a new weekly printable for the planners. So here is a new design. This one is based on the Spring version released a few months ago, which can be downloaded from the Downloads section, too. I kept the watercolour look on the header and kept everything else simple. The days of the week are big but will be subtle once you stamp dates or add embellishments on top. I used the Studio L2E Brush Date stamps to indicate the dates on the page. I would love to see how you use these pages in your planners. Use the hashtag #arlynaplannerpages and tag…

    Freebie | #Gratitude Notebook

    September 29, 2015 / No Comments

Every October the past few years, I’ve been wanting to do a mini gratitude album but every time, something aways comes up. But this year since I am using my Midori Traveler’s Notebooks all the time now, I decided to create a mini notebook that I can squeeze in. That way I can add in some words wherever I am. The whole idea is to keep things simple just jotting down things on my mind. Maybe I will add a photo or so, depending on what I’m grateful for on that day. I am using the MTN Passport size as it is my main agenda book. You can also use this…

Over a year after the devastating Typhoon Yolanda or Typhoon Haiyan ravaged through my hometown, Tacloban City, I got the chance to go back, not once but twice in July. Here’s a little photo tour from those 2 trips. To be honest, when I got off the plane on the first trip, I wasn’t sure what to expect. From the airport, I could already see telltale signs of change from the aftermath but it seems like things are back to normal, people going on with their lives. Throughout the first week of running errands, going back and forth downtown Tacloban, I continually look everywhere. Part of the landscape looks like…

Just checking in and wanted to share with you some pictures from our last-minute trip to Yinchuan last August. Amazing city brimming with a mix of Muslim and Chinese culture. Wish we had more time to explore.

    Project Life | Weeks 20-28

    September 3, 2015 / No Comments

This is going to be a photo-heavy post because I just found out that I forgot to do a post on my Project Life spreads spanning May, June and July before I went to the Philippines a couple weeks ago! So here they are… I’m loving these chipboard stickers from the Ali Edwards Story Kits which I am trying to hoard! For week 26, I had to include an extra page to fit in photos I did not include in the travel journal. Week 27 is only 1 page as this ends my Volume 1 of my 2015 Project Life. Somehow this volume is not as thick as my previous…

    Travel Journal | Yinchuan

    August 16, 2015 / No Comments

My suitcase from the recent trip to the Philippines has not been completely unpacked and then I had to go on a business trip to Yinchuan. As I have not been to Yinchuan before, I decided to take this chance to take my kids along. And of course, I debated on whether I will do a travel journal or not. I’m glad I did! I kept things simple and decided to use a Traveler’s Notebook Refill for a Short Trip with my Passport size Midori Traveler’s Notebook (which I got on sale!). The stuff I brought on previous trips were practically in my suitcase so I just brought them along on…

    August 15, 2015 / 5 Comments

For this year’s #weekinthelife by Ali Edwards, I’ve re-designed (yes, being a designer, I can never be happy with a design especially when it is for myself…!) the Traveler’s Notebook format I did last year. This time I did 2 new designs with ample space for photos or journaling. My #weekinthelife starts Sunday instead of Monday as this is same way I document with my Project Life pages. This is what I did last year with lots of photos. This year, I may add more words instead of photos. Let’s see how everything goes from tomorrow. Putting this booklet together is easy Print the pages in the PDF  on both…

Travel Journal | Tacloban City (Part 1)

    August 4, 2015 / 2 Comments

This is a 2-part post more because I ended up going to my hometown, Tacloban City, twice in July. I initially thought of putting both trips into 1 journal but I decided that on both trips, there will be different events and activities so I made 2. Here’s a look at some of the pages: Thanks for looking.

    August 2, 2015 / No Comments

Are you ready for #weekinthelife by Ali Edwards happening August 17; I’m doing mine starting from the 16th, Sunday, to coincide with my Project Life system. I’ve been doing this on-&-off for years depending on how my workload is. This year, I’m doing the system I did last year because I find it quite easy to do or catch up. The previous years, I used Evernote to document the days.

The mixed results I got from last Sunday’s ecoprint play using @jackravi lesson from @fodder.school . I probably still need more rust and longer time in the soak. Process over results.
