My first “solo” trip in a long time without the kids. This year they decided to join their school trips and so I ended up going to Ho Chi Minh with my colleagues. Saigon is one of those places I’ve been wanting to go and it was great to have had this chance to explore places with the team and on my own. Definitely an adventure! On our recent adventure to the southern part of Leyte, Kalanggaman Island, I decided to create a travel journal after we returned to Shanghai as I didn’t get much chance to do it while there. Although this island is off the main island, somehow it still is part of Palompon. Getting there from Tacloban is not as difficult as I thought it to be. We hired a private van from Tacloban, which took about 2.5 hours. And then had a boat waiting for us in Palompon to take us to the island, which was another 1 hour. This might now become a regular series in my blog… as I complete (I hope) my 500 colored pencils from Felissimo. A couple weeks ago I received in the mail my equally awesome set called Wanderlust. The name alone resonates me and my love for travel! So I added coloured pencil drawings or shadings into a couple watercolour paintings I did for the DoodleWash prompts. Aren’t these names so cool? This post is supposed to be about Australia but at the last-minute our plans changed. We literally decided to go to Seoul the day after my visa to Australia was not released on time. Did not have much time to prepare for this trip and ended up using one of the 1/2 Trip notebook inserts I bought in Tokyo. Anyways, last 28 May, was the very first official Midori Traveler’s Notebook meet up that was sponsored by Midori. It was quite an honour and a privilege to have been invited to join, one of the very few and exclusive guest list. Who can say ‘no’ to such event? It has been a while since I last posted anything on my blog. Sorry for that. I’ve been dealing with a lot of work stress leading up to our Tokyo trip. Fortunately I had an extra handmade TN insert I had made a while ago so used it for documenting our trip to Japan.
