Happy Little Moments | The Exhibit

As I’m writing this post (albeit a late one), I am still feeling like it’s all surreal, to be having a solo exhibit…

#documentinglife has become something of a mission after I discovered digital scrapbooking when I just had kids. It became a way for me to capture those every day little moments in Shanghai as a family that is fleeting yet too precious not to eternalize. Eventually, it grew into a hobby that drives me to find inspiration even from the simplest things in everyday life, and also an effective medium for me to soak in the unique aspects of a new place visited.

In a blink of an eye, my kids have grown and so have my collection, some of which are shared here on this blog. Sometimes we’d flip through these albums and there’s no better sense of joy than seeing their delighted faces as they recall those moments in their lives. This is what makes it all worth it.

I’m excited to share with the public little fragments of my life over the last few decades living in China. I’m sure there are a lot of sketches showcased that will stir up feelings of familiarity and nostalgia.

I hope this inspires others to document their own moments and keep those memories alive not just for themselves and but also for their loved ones. I’d love for them to be able to look back over the years and feel gratitude for a life well lived and for the smallest things that made them smile along the way.
