… our days seem to go in a blur! … keeping a journal handy with my fauxdori (courtesy from the fantastic Happie Scrappie) and custom-made insert to document our Week in the Life … school homework takes a big part of our evenings … work has been hectic with deadlines all sort of happening at the same time … organizing a trick-or-treat for our entire apartment complex (4 buildings) at the last-minute; so far there is 60 kids registered and 25 apartments … some routines are changing almost everyday and some of those changes are a challenge and some are not too bad … on some nights, we only have time…

The other day I was going through my blog and somehow did not realize I had started blogging back in 2004! The blog has transitioned over time from Typepad to Blogger (up until Blogger was blocked in China) and then hosting it using iWeb (which proved to be a bit of a nightmare when it came to customizing the design of the pre-installed templates). So now, this blog resides in this new address. As I went through my past blog posts, I was faced with a lot of emotions as I re-read our stories. It has been a bit of a bittersweet journey through time and it has made me…

Life has been so full these days. There has been hardly any time to update this blog these days… in between doing Project Life, being on top of the kids’ school assignments, doing a lot of pinning and full-time work. Lately you can find more updates of our lives in Shanghai via Instagram.

It has been a while since the last blog post. Life has been full! Kids are in their last term of kindergarten before grade school. Finding the ‘right’ local school is on our to-do list. International schools in Shanghai are not affordable.

Summer in Shanghai for us means lots of pool time….

Yes, the wet and humid weather typical of the ‘plum season’ has descended on us. A typical June weather that calls for wellies and raincoats as we walk to school and work every morning during the weekdays. This is the season when closets needs more airing to prevent mold and mildew from setting, when laundry don’t dry as quickly, when it pours when it rains and sometimes, flooded streets.

Yesterday has been a very hectic day and to top with all the family stuff and as if I didn’t have enough things to do, I still went ahead and made these Cheesecake Pops. It was an even messier experience than making the Red Velvet Cake Balls version and just couldn’t help wish that I didn’t do the cheesecake version but my kids wanted to give a little something to their class as sort of Valentine’s Day gift and ‘welcome back to school’ goodie.

Finally managed to get a chance to take a photo of my recent book acquisitions 🙂 We’ve hardly bought books last year more because of the shipping costs. We typically order from Amazon as we don’t usually find books we like at the bookstores in Shanghai esp. when it comes to crafts and cooking.

10 years ago in Taipei, I met the person who changed my life. 10 years ago in Taipei, he surprised me and proposed at Burger King. 10 years ago in Taipei, we had a ‘big’ church wedding at a small chapel in Tienmu attended by family and friends, some who even flew from the other side of the world to celebrate with us. 10 years ago in Shanghai, we are in our ‘honeymoon’; an extended one. 10 years ago in London, we had another wedding; a small civil wedding. 10 years later in Shanghai, I’m blessed with a great husband and dad. Thank you, Simon. Audrey gave us a drawing…

Lately blogging has been on the bottom of my priorities with so much going on mostly at work. The very few spots of time in between that and spending time with family see me sewing and sewing and sewing.
